Sperimentale<\/strong> of Spoleto will open with<strong><em> Nanof, l&#8217;altro<\/em><\/strong>, a one-act opera in six scenes for 6 voices, ensemble of 18 instruments and chamber choir by <strong>Antonio Agostini<\/strong>, on a libretto by Chiara Serani and Antonio Agostini, with the collaboration of Davide Toschi.<br \/>\nThe musical ensemble will be conducted by Mimma Campanale, directed by Alessio Pizzech, sets by Andrea Stanisci and costumes by Clelia De Angelis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00abThe work centers on the historical figure of Oreste Nannetti, a scientist who was incarcerated in the Volterra asylum (the time of the action is before the Basaglia Law came into effect), where he managed to find a way to sublimate his condition as a sectioned patient by engraving a series of marks on the great wall of that asylum with his belt buckle: the &#8220;different&#8221; Nanof \u2013 as he named himself \u2013 in fact the inventor of an evocative new vocabulary (portions of this wall can still be seen today at the Volterra Museum) that continues to attract the attention of language and linguistics scholars,&#8221; so Enrico Girardi, Artistic Director of the Sperimentale.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Composed on commission by the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale, the opera will be <strong>premiered<\/strong> at the <strong>Teatro Caio Melisso<\/strong> in Spoleto on Friday, <strong>Aug. 8<\/strong> at 8:30 p.m., Saturday, <strong>Aug. 9<\/strong> at 8:30 p.m. and Sunday, <strong>Aug. 10<\/strong> at 5 p.m. (preview: Thursday,
