Splendore in “Il tè delle tre” | Teatro Lirico Sperimentale (Spoleto)

The Season 2025 of the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale will continue with a Triptych of works by Gino Negri (1919-1991), author of both music and librettos: Giorno di nozze (1958), a short work for soprano, recorded voice, piano, violin, organ, guitar and guns; Vieni qui Carla (1954), a one-act opera inspired by Moravia’s famous novel Gli indifferenti, for soprano, baritone and 10 instruments; and Il tè delle tre (1958), a one-act musical farce for 3 singers and 8 instruments, three of whom are also given mimic roles. Singer Stefano Belisari, known as Elio, was cast in Giorno di nozze for a recorded part (a song the protagonist hears on the radio).

Conceived as a kind of performance in the form of a Prologue and two one-acts, Trittico will feature Marco Angius conducting the musical ensemble. Direction, sets and costumes are by Pier Luigi Pizzi. For the Milanese artist, who has to his credit dozens and dozens of performances in the world’s most prestigious theaters, this is a long-awaited debut at the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale.

On stage at Teatro Caio Melisso on Friday, Aug. 29, 8:30 p.m., Saturday , Aug. 30, 8:30 p.m. and Sunday, Aug.
