SUMMARY:Berenice vendicativa (D. Freschi) | Teatro Olimpico of Vicenza
DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, April 17 and Saturday\, April 18\, 2026\, the modern premiere of the opera Berenice vendicativa will be held at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza. This drama in music by Domenico Freschi (Valrovina di Bassano del Grappa\, 1634 – Vicenza\, 1710) to a libretto by Francesco Maria Piccioli and Giorgio Maria Rapparini is a gem of the great Venetian Baroque all to be discovered: there could be no better opportunity for this opera to shine again with the two special evenings in the world’s oldest indoor theater. \nThis work inaugurates the three-year project L’Effimero e il Perenne (The Transient and the Eternal)\, which the Accademia Olimpica intends to dedicate between 2026 and 2028 to the Teatro Olimpico\, Domenico Freschi\, and the great Vicenza and Veneto culture of the seventeenth century. \nFrancesco Erle has been entrusted with conducting\, while Roberto Cuppone will take care of the stage direction.\nFourteen singers will alternate in the seven roles in the two evenings: mezzo-soprano Emma Alessi Innocenti and soprano Jimin Oh (Berenice); mezzo-sopranos Maria Giuditta Guglielmi and Nina Cuk (Farnace); sopranos Minyoung Park and Alice Fraccari (Celinda); mezzo-sopranos Iryna Shteiner and Chiara Ceccarelli (Osmano); sopranos Claudia Floris and Aoki Onaka (Alceste); sopranos Gloria Ferro and Anna Rigotti (Nicomede); and mezzo-sopranos Luisa Torresan and Bogdana Pechenevska (Creonte). Dancer Roberta Piazza completes the cast.\nThe instrumental part is entrusted to the ensemble L’Arte dell’Arco\, for the occasion composed of Federico Guglielmo (I violin)\, Alessia Pazzaglia (II violin)\, Matteo Rozzi (viola)\, Caterina Colelli (cello)\, Michele Gallo (violone)\, Gregorio Carraro (oboe and flutes)\, Arrigo Pietrobon (oboe\, bombard and flutes)\, Michele Santi (trumpet)\, Gianluca Geremia (lutes) and Lorenzo Feder (harpsichord). \nThe production team includes\, among others: Mauro Zocchetta\, collaboration on direction and set design; Carlo Presotto\, video projections; Luciano Padovani\, choreography consulting; Davide Gagliani\, light designer; and Antonia Munaretti\, costume and prop elements. Ceneo’s severed head is made by mascheraro Stefano Perocco of Meduna.\nThe production of Berenice Vendicativa for the Teatro Olimpico is based on musicological work done by Francesco Erle and Sebastiano Franz on the manuscript preserved in the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana\, in the Fondo Contarini. \nThe event is sponsored by the Accademia Olimpica\, in partnership with the Vicenza Chamber of Commerce\, under the patronage of the Veneto Region and with the sponsorship and support of the Province of Vicenza\, the Municipality of Piazzola sul Brenta\, the Piazzola Futura Foundation and the Vicenza University Service Center – CSUV. \nPrices \n° Full ticket: 30 euros\n° Reduced ticket: 20 euros (over 60; Olympic Academics; members of the Schola San Rocco Choral Association; Astra Theater subscribers)\n° Special under-25 ticket: 10 euros. \nTickets available from Wednesday\, April 1 at\n° Astra Theater Office in Vicenza contrà Barche\, 55 open to the public Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 5:45 p.m.; tel 0444323725; info@teatroastra.it\n° online at vivaticket.it and teatroastra.it \nFor information\nsegreteria@accademiaolimpica.it

SUMMARY:Le Nozze di Figaro | Teatro Lirico Sperimentale (Spoleto)
DESCRIPTION:The 79th Sperimentale Opera Season 2025 ends with a new production of Le Nozze di Figaro\, an opera in four acts by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on a libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte. This masterpiece\, which premiered in Vienna in 1786\, is a comedy of intrigue and deception that lays bare a dizzying\, deeply human gallery of feelings and moods. The latter aspect distinguishes it from its source\, the drama of the same name contained in Beaumarchais’ Figaro Trilogy\, which is more devoted to the reasons for biting social and political criticism. After Don Giovanni (2022)\, the staging of Mozart’s Dapontian Trilogy thus continues. The performance is conducted by Marco Angius\, the direction and sets are by Henning Brockhaus\, for a production marked by the theme of eroticism as a key to self-consciousness and knowledge of the world. Costumes are by Giancarlo Colis. \nThe opera will be staged at the Teatro Nuovo in Spoleto (Sept. 12\, 13\, 14: performances open to the public; Sept. 15 and 16: performances for schools) and at main theaters in the Umbria region: Teatro Morlacchi in Perugia (Sept. 18)\, Politeama Clarici in Foligno (Sept. 20); Teatro degli Illuminati in Città di Castello (Sept. 21)\, Teatro Mancinelli in Orvieto (Sept. 22); Teatro Comunale in Todi (Sept. 23 and 24). \nPerformers\nDirection: Marco Angius\nDirection and scenes: Henning Brockhaus\nCostumes: Giancarlo Colis\nCoreography: Valentina Escobar\nLight designer: Eva Bruno \nFigaro: Nicolò Lauteri | Mattia Ribba | Marco Gazzini\nSusanna: Kristýna Kůstková | Eleonora Benetti | Sara Di Santo | Gaia Cardinale\nContessa: Lorena Cesaretti | Giorgia Costantino | Francesca Paoletti | Viktoriia Balan\nConte: Andrea Ariano | Marco Guarini | Stepan Polishchuk\nCherubino: Emma Alessi Innocenti | Francesca Lione | Francesca Mercuriali\nMarcellina: Elena Finelli | Chiara Latini\nBartolo/Antonio: Sathya Gangale | Davide Romeo\nBasilio/Don Curzio: Nicola Di Filippo | Joaquin Echave Cangemi\nBarbarina: Beatrice Caterino | Ariadna Vilardaga \nCalamani Orchestra of the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale\nChoir and Technicians del Teatro Lirico Sperimentale \nRepresentations\n23 and 24 September | 8:00 pm \nTeatro Comunale\, Todi (PG)

SUMMARY:"La Cenerentola" in concert form | Vicenza in Lirica
DESCRIPTION:Next April 15 at 8 p.m.\, the Operetta Hall of the Ankara Museum of Sculpture and Painting will host a prestigious musical event\, “Külkedisi Operasından Aryalar Konseri\,” or arias from Gioachino Rossini’s opera La Cenerentola. The concert\, organized by the General Direction of State Opera and Ballet of Turkey in cooperation with theEmbassy of Italy in Ankara\, will feature on stage an international cast of young artists who won the prestigious Tullio Serafin Opera Competition and starred in past editions of the “Vicenza in Lirica” Festival. \nProtagonists of the event will be Quan Zhou (Don Ramiro)\, Carlo Sgura (Dandini)\, Gianpiero Delle Grazie (Don Magnifico)\, Silvia Porcellini (Clorinda)\, Elisabetta Ricci (Tisbe)\, Emma Alessi Innocenti (Cenerentola/Külkedisi)\, Said Gobechiya (Alidoro) and Fausto Di Benedetto on piano. \nStanding out among the promoters of the initiative is the cultural association “Concetto Armonico” with the “Vicenza in Lirica” Festival\, realities that are now rooted in the international opera scene and that once again carry the name of the city of Vicenza and Tullio Serafin in Turkey as a symbol of artistic and cultural excellence. \nIn fact\, the concert in Ankara represents the continuation of an important institutional and cultural dialogue between “Concetto Armonico” and the Embassy of Italy in Turkey\, strengthened by the fruitful collaboration initiated in 2024\, when the association organized as many as four concerts on the occasion of the National Day of the Italian Republic at the Ankara Opera and Ballet Theater\, the Italian Embassy in Ankara\, the Italian Institute of Culture in Istanbul and the Izmir Consulate\, enjoying great success with the public and media attention\, consolidating the Italian cultural presence in the country. \nThanks to these initiatives\, Vicenza – with its architectural jewel\, the Teatro Olimpico\, and with “Concetto Armonico” is confirmed as an ambassador of Italian culture abroad. The “Vicenza in Lirica” Festival\, which over the years has nurtured young talents now present in major European opera institutions\, aims to be a bridge between generations\, nations and traditions\, promoting not only the beauty of bel canto\, but also the value of meeting and cultural exchange. \nThe inclusion of this event within the Festival of Italian Creativity further underscores the high profile of the initiative\, which combines art\, diplomacy and cultural promotion in a highly relevant international context. \nAndrea Castello\, artistic director of the “Vicenza in Lirica” Festival and president of “Concetto Armonico\,” stresses:\n«To once again bring the name of the city of Vicenza to Turkey\, thanks to the collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Ankara\, is a source of great pride for us. The “Vicenza in Lirica” Festival not only trains and debuts young artists through the Tullio Serafin Opera Competition\, but also takes on the task of accompanying them in international artistic growth\, offering them the opportunity to perform in other countries. This is an important added value for Vicenza\, which is represented in the world not only as a city of art\, but also as a hothouse of talent and living culture.» \n\n\n\nGuido Faggion

SUMMARY:Moschetta e Grullo / Eurilla e Beltramme | Teatro Lirico Sperimentale (Spoleto)
DESCRIPTION:Intermezzi of the 18th century\nThe Teatro Lirico Sperimentale\, in collaboration withtheUniversity of Milan – Centro Studi Pergolesi\, will stage as many as two performances dedicated to the Baroque repertoire for the 2024 season.\nThis review has now become a traditional fixture in the theater’s playbill and is dedicated to 18th-century Intermezzi. They are short works between comic and farcical centered on two or three characters\, which were performed in Neapolitan theaters during the intervals between the acts of serious operas. Intermezzi served the function of entertainment for the audience\, which was highly entertained by these small operatic creations\, sometimes showing even greater interest than the main serious melodrama. \nThis year\, the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale will stage two intermezzi by Domenico Sarro\, leading composer of the glorious season of the early 18th-century Neapolitan School\, which played a key role in exporting Italian opera throughout Europe.\nThese interludes are entitled Moschetta and Grullo and Eurilla and Beltramme and were composed by Sarro himself for the interludes of two of his serious melodramas. Moschetta e Grullo is in fact the intermezzo for the opera Siroe re di Persia\, which was first performed at the Teatro San Bartolomeo in Naples in 1727; Eurilla e Beltramme \, on the other hand\, is the intermezzo for La Partenope\, the first performance of which took place in 1722 at the same theater.\nThe production of Moschetta e Grullo is a revival from the 2023 season\, while the staging of Eurilla e Beltramme is a first performance in modern times. \nPerformers\nMoschetta e Grullo \nMusic by Domenico Sarro\nCritical edition by Antonio Dilella and Claudio Toscani \nMoschetta: Chiara Guerra | Aloisia de Nardis\nGrullo: Davide Piva | Marco Gazzini \nMimes: Vania Ficola\, Valentino Pagliei \nEurilla e Beltramme \nMusic by Domenico Sarro\nCritical edition by Benedetta Amelio \nEurilla: Emma Alessi Innocenti | Francesca Lione\nBeltramme: Andrea Ariano | Marco Pierangelo Maria Guarini \nMimes: Vania Ficola\, Valentino Pagliei \nDirection: Pierfrancesco Borrelli\nMoschetta and Grullo direction and scenes: Andrea Stanisci\nEurilla and Beltramme direction and scenes: Laura Cosso\nMoschetta and Grullo costumes: Clelia De Angelis\nEurilla and Beltramme costumes: Clara Restivo\nLights: Eva Bruno \nEnsemble Calamani of the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale\nTechnicians of the Experimental Lyric Theater\nHarpsichord: Davor Krkljus \nRepresentations\n6\, 7 September | 8: 30 pm\n8 September | 5:00 pm \nTeatro Caio Melisso\, Spoleto (PG)

SUMMARY:Procedura Penale / La smorfia | Teatro Lirico Sperimentale (Spoleto)
DESCRIPTION:20th-century Opera\nProcedura penale by Luciano Chailly and La smorfia by Bruno Bettinelli are two short comic operas in one act\, conceived as a diptych and thus performed during the first representation at the Teatrino of Villa Olmo in Como\, in 1959. \nFor the first time since the first performance\, they are revived in their original form\, in a new staging curated by the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale of Spoleto. The skillful\, imaginative and surprising writing of composers Chailly and Bettinelli highlights the sophisticated and surreal comedy of their two librettists and celebrated writers: respectively Dino Buzzati and Riccardo Bacchelli. \nPerformers\nDirection: Marco Angius\nDirection: Giorgio Bongiovanni\nScenes: Andrea Stanisci\nCostumes: Clelia De Angelis\nLight designer: Eva Bruno \nProcedura Penale\n \nMauritia Delormes: Aloisia de Nardis | Giorgia Costantino\nTitti Stefanetti: Eleonora Benetti | Chiara Latini\nGiandomenico: Marco Pierangelo Maria Guarini | Alberto Petricca\nPaola Isoscele: Emma Alessi Innocenti | Francesca Lione\nDottor Polcevera: Nicola Di Filippo | Paolo Mascari\nDue gemelle: Viktoria Balan e Chiara Guerra \nLa Smorfia \nAstronio Tridapali: Davide Piva | Andrea Ariano\nAdone Vigorelli: Paolo Mascari | Claudio Rocchi\nVanda Tridapali: Eleonora Benetti | Kristyna Kustkovà | Chiara Latini\nLucio Baiesi: Ferruccio Finetti | Marco Gazzini\nFranco Bizzi: Federico Vita\nLuigi del Fante: Nicola Di Filippo \nRepresentations\n29\, 30\, 31 August | 8:30 pm\n1 September | 5:00 pm \nTeatro Caio Melisso\, Spoleto (PG)

SUMMARY:Aci\, Galatea e Polifemo - G.F. Händel | Teatro Arrigoni\, S. Vito al Tagliamento
DESCRIPTION:The performance of Aci\, Galatea e Polifemo is part of the 2023 playbill of the MusicAntica Festival BAROQUE STORIES Reflections\, incroci\, rivisitazioni\, produced by the BAROCCO EUROPEO Association of Sacile (www.barocco-europeo.org) in collaboration with Epicantica and the Wunderkammer-Trieste Festival. \nAci\, Galatea e Polifemo HWV 72 by G. F. Händel is the opera chosen this year as the project for the LABORATORIO PER L’OPERA BAROCCA\, in order to create a new professional opportunity for young artists. Such Serenata has been revived at the theaters of the Friuli-Venezia-Giulia region.\nIn the roles of the protagonists will be the young winners of the Vocal Competition held precisely for the staging of the performance. The young students of NABA – New Academy of Fine Arts in Milan – have contributed their fresh inventiveness to the realization of the set design\, under the banner of a modern and appealing reading of the Baroque repertoire. Musical support will be provided by the Cenacolo Musicale orchestral ensemble\, under the direction of Riccardo Doni\, a well-known expert in the Baroque repertoire and attentive to the education of new generations. \nAci\, Galatea e Polifemo is a Serenata for three voices for soprano\, alto and bass\, composed by G.F.Händel during his stay in Naples in 1708\, with a libretto by Neapolitan abbot Nicola Giuvo. The work was commissioned by Donna Cecilia Capece\, Princess of Squinzano\, for the wedding of the Duke of Alvito to Beatrice Sanseverino and is intended to sing the praises of marital fidelity.\nStylistically\, the serenade is set in the very particular expressive context of the Academy of Arcadia\, founded in Rome after the death of Christina of Sweden by a circle of literati with the aim of creating a new poetic style in antithesis to the artifices of the seventeenth century and aimed rather at exalting the simple life of shepherds\, in the name of an ideal of classicism and rationalism.\nFrom a vocal point of view\, the opera requires special technical and performance skills and especially tests the voice of the bass\, for whom Händel wrote one of the most difficult and challenging arias in the Baroque repertoire (“Fra l’ombre e gli orrori”)\, the melody of which involves a vocal range of two and a half octaves and unfolds in dizzying leaps. The female voices must also demonstrate particular gifts in coloratura embroidery and expressive intensity\, in a constant search for melodic beauty and ornamental refinements. \nPerformers\nAci – Maddalena De Biasi\nGalatea – Emma Alessi Innocenti\nPolifemo – Yuri Guerra\nMimes – Andrea Maddalozzo\, Leandro Bertolo\, Marta Lucchese \ndirection by Cesare Scarton\nconducting Riccardo Doni\nconception Donatella Busetto \nCenacolo Musicale Orchestra\nTommaso Luison – first violin\nAlessandro Mele\, Massimiliano Tieppo\, Matteo Rozzi\, Ludovica Lanaro\, Elisa Franzini – violins\nAlessia Turri\, Michele Sguotti – violas\nGiancarlo Trimboli\, Cristina Vidoni – cellos\nMauro Zavagno – violone\nDavide Giacuzzo\, Andrea Bracco – trumpets\nGregorio Carraro – oboe/recorder\nFabiano Merlante – theorbo\nDonatella Busetto – organ \nDate event and location\n19th November\, 5:00 pm. | Teatro Arrigoni in San Vito al Tagliamento

SUMMARY:Aci\, Galatea e Polifemo - G.F. Händel | Teatro Verdi\, Gorizia
\nPerformers\nAci – Maddalena De Biasi\nGalatea – Emma Alessi Innocenti\nPolifemo – Yuri Guerra\nMimes – Andrea Maddalozzo\, Leandro Bertolo\, Marta Lucchese \ndirection by Cesare Scarton\nconducting Riccardo Doni\nconception Donatella Busetto \nCenacolo Musicale Orchestra\nTommaso Luison – first violin\nAlessandro Mele\, Massimiliano Tieppo\, Matteo Rozzi\, Ludovica Lanaro\, Elisa Franzini – violins\nAlessia Turri\, Michele Sguotti – violas\nGiancarlo Trimboli\, Cristina Vidoni – cellos\nMauro Zavagno – violone\nDavide Giacuzzo\, Andrea Bracco – trumpets\nGregorio Carraro – oboe/recorder\nFabiano Merlante – theorbo\nDonatella Busetto – organ \nDate event and location\n12th November\, 5:00 pm | Teatro Verdi of Gorizia

Although the three works were composed to be a one-act play\, nowadays they are often separated to be paired with other similarly themed works or staged individually. \nNew staging in co-production with Teatro del Giglio in Lucca and Teatro Lirico in Cagliari\nThe performance on 15 November 2019 will be broadcast live on Rai Radio 3 \nArtists\nConcertmaster and Conductor\, Valerio Galli\nStage direction\, scenes and costumes and light designer\, Denis Krief \nIl tabarro\nMichele\, Franco Vassallo\nGiorgetta\, María José Siri\nLuigi\, Angelo Villari\nIl Tinca\, Antonio Garès\nIl Talpa\, Eugenio Di Lieto\nLa Frugola\, Anna Maria Chiuri\nVenditore di canzonette\, Dave Monaco\nAmante\, Costanza Fontana\nAmante\, Claudio Zazzaro\nVoce di sopranino\, Thalida Marina Fogarasi\nVoce di tenorino\, Leonardo Sgroi\nMidinettes: Maria Cristina Bisogni\, Cristina Pagliai\, Sarina Rausa\, Elena Bazzo\, Elisabetta Ermini\, Delia Palmieri \nOrchestra and Choir of Maggio Musicale Fiorentino\nChoir Master Lorenzo Fratini \nSuor Angelica\nSuor Angelica\, María José Siri\nZia Principessa\, Anna Maria Chiuri\nBadessa\, Marina Ogii\nSuor Zelatrice\, Anna Malavasi\nMaestra delle Novizie\, Giada Frasconi\nSuor Genovieffa\, Costanza Fontana\nSuor Dolcina\, Nikoleta Kapetanidou\nSuora Infermiera\, Carmen Buendia\nPrima Cercatrice\, Eunsong Lim\nSeconda Cercatrice\, Francesca Longari\nPrima Novizia\, Marta Pluda\nSeconda Novizia\, Julia Costa\nPrima Conversa\, Marilena Ruta\nSeconda Conversa\, Emma Alessi Innocenti\nSuor Osmina\, Elena Cavini\nThree nuns: Daniela Losi\, Consuelo Cellai\, Amanda Ferri \nOrchestra\, Choir and Children’s Choir of Maggio Musicale Fiorentino\nChoir and Children’s Choir Master Lorenzo Fratini \nGianni Schicchi\nGianni Schicchi\, Bruno de Simone\nLauretta\, Francesca Longari\nZita\, Anna Maria Chiuri\nRinuccio\, Dave Monaco\nGherardo\, Antonio Garés\nNella\, Costanza Fontana\nGherardino\, Matteo Lantieri\nBetto di Signa\, Francesco Venuti\nSimone\, Eugenio di Lieto\nMarco\, Min Kim\nLa Ciesca\, Giada Frasconi\nMaestro Spinelloccio/Ser Amantio\, Enrico Marabelli\nGuccio\, Adam Jon\nPinellino\, Shuxin Li \nOrchestra of Maggio Musicale Fiorentino
