Puccini’s Trittico at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino

The Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence is presenting Il Trittico by Giacomo Puccini, consisting of the three operas Il tabarro, Gianni Schicchi and Suor Angelica.
This is a rather unusual choice, since nowadays the three works are often separated to be placed side by side with other operas with similar themes or staged individually, although they were conceived as a single act and so performed at the New York premiere in 1918.

Emma Alessi Innocenti will have the great pleasure (and excitement) of treading the boards of her city’s theater for the first time as a professional artist, playing the role of Seconda Conversa. The young mezzo-soprano will be alongside internationally renowned artists such as Maria Jose Siri (Suor Angelica), Anna Maria Chiuri (Zia Principessa), Valerio Galli (conduction) and Denis Krief (direction).

Performances will be on 15, 17, 20 and 23 November 2019. The performance on 15 November 2019 will be broadcast live on Rai Radio 3
